Calendar Settings

Calendar settings let you control how the Conductly calendar behaves and how it connects to external calendar applications. These settings help prevent scheduling conflicts and keep your calendar in sync across tools.

To access calendar settings, go to Settings > Calendar from the sidebar.

Prevent Double Booking

The double-booking prevention feature helps you avoid scheduling conflicts by alerting you when a new event would overlap with an existing one.

  • Enabled (recommended) -- Conductly will warn you when you try to schedule a lesson or event that overlaps with an existing event for the same instructor or room.
  • Disabled -- Overlapping events are allowed without warnings.

Toggle this setting on or off based on your school's needs.

tip

Most schools should keep double-booking prevention enabled. This is especially important if you have multiple instructors sharing rooms or if your schedule is tightly packed.

External Calendar Sync (CalDAV)

Conductly has CalDAV infrastructure that can sync your Conductly calendar with external calendar applications such as:

  • Apple Calendar (iCal)
  • Google Calendar
  • Thunderbird
  • Any CalDAV-compatible calendar application

:::info Availability CalDAV sync is not enabled by default and requires Conductly support to enable and configure for your school. Contact support to request access and get the setup instructions for your specific calendar application. :::

When enabled, CalDAV sync is one-way from Conductly to your external calendar. Events created in your external calendar app will not appear in Conductly — always create and manage your teaching schedule within Conductly. Sync includes private lessons, group classes, and other calendar events created in Conductly.

Best Practices

  • Enable double-booking prevention unless your school intentionally allows overlapping events (for example, if multiple students share a group lesson slot).
  • Use CalDAV for a unified view. If you already use Apple Calendar or Google Calendar for personal events, adding your Conductly calendar via CalDAV gives you a complete picture of your day.
  • Keep your Conductly calendar as the source of truth. Since CalDAV sync is one-way, always make scheduling changes in Conductly to ensure everything stays accurate.
