Sample Data in New Accounts
Every new Conductly account comes pre-loaded with a sample school — a full set of realistic demo instructors, students, courses, and lessons — so you can explore the app before you enter anything real.
What's Included
Your sample school comes with:
- 4 sample instructors
- 20 sample students and 17 sample guardians
- 6 sample courses with a mix of billing types
- Private lessons and two group classes on the calendar, scheduled around your signup date
- A handful of draft and open sample invoices
Setting Up
Right after you register, you'll briefly see a Setting up your sample school… pill in the top bar while it's built. The app fills in on its own once it's ready — no refresh needed.
Is It Safe to Leave?
Yes. Sample data can't cost you anything:
- Sample invoices are never paid, and no real charge is ever made against them.
- Sample instructors don't count toward your billed seats.
- Sample guardians and instructors have placeholder email addresses that can't receive real mail.
Clearing Sample Data
Once your sample school is ready, a Viewing sample data pill appears in the top bar with a Clear button next to it (visible everywhere in the app).
- Click Clear.
- Confirm Clear sample data in the dialog.
This permanently deletes every sample student, instructor, guardian, course, lesson, class, and invoice.
If you've already connected something real to the sample school — enrolled a real student in a sample class, or booked a real lesson in a sample room — that real record is kept. Only the sample part is removed, and the confirmation message tells you how many real students were unenrolled as part of the clear.
Clearing sample data cannot be undone.
Only owners and admins can clear sample data (the same permission level as Settings access) — instructors don't see the Clear button.
The Getting Started Checklist Waits
The Getting Started checklist (see the Quick Start Guide) doesn't appear while your sample school is on screen — otherwise it would tick off tasks like "Add a location" or "Add a student" for work you never did. Once you clear the sample data, you get a fresh checklist with nothing marked complete.
