Calendar Views
Conductly offers four different calendar views so you can see your schedule the way that works best for you. Switch between views at any time -- your filters and position are preserved as you navigate.
Switching Between Views
To change your calendar view:
- Click the view selector dropdown in the top-right area of the calendar header (it shows the current view name, like "Month" or "Week").
- Select Day, Week, Month, or List from the dropdown.
On mobile, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner to access view options and display settings.
Day View
The Day view shows all events for a single day, arranged in time slots from morning to evening. This is the most detailed view and is ideal for seeing exactly what is happening hour by hour.
Best for: Checking a specific day's schedule, spotting open time slots, and managing a busy day.
- Events are displayed as blocks within their time slots
- Overlapping events are shown side by side
- Click any empty time slot to start creating a new event at that time
Week View
The Week view shows a full seven-day week at a glance, with each day displayed as a column. You can see the flow of the entire week and quickly identify busy and open periods.
Best for: Planning the week ahead, balancing instructor workloads, and getting an overview of weekly patterns.
- Each day of the week appears as a vertical column
- Events appear as blocks within their day columns
- Click any empty time slot in any day to create a new event
Month View
The Month view provides a bird's-eye view of the entire month. Events appear as compact entries within each day cell. When a day has more events than can be displayed, a "+X more" link appears so you can expand the full list.
Best for: Long-range planning, spotting scheduling patterns, and getting a high-level overview of the month.
- Click on a day number to jump to the Day view for that date
- Closed dates are visually marked on the calendar
- Great for identifying busy weeks and planning around holidays
List View
The List view displays events as a chronological, scrollable list. Each event appears as a row with key details like time, instructor, location, and students. This is the most information-dense view and works well for reviewing or printing schedules.
Best for: Reviewing schedules in detail, printing a day's schedule, bulk actions, and working with filtered results.
- Events are listed in chronological order
- Use the Select all button to select multiple events at once
- With events selected, use the Actions menu to:
- Delete events in bulk
- Assign make-up credits to cancelled lessons
- Email participants for the selected events
- Group events by location or instructor for organized printing
The List view is your best option when you need to print a schedule. Filter by instructor or location, then use your browser's print function for a clean, readable printout.
Navigating Through Time
Regardless of which view you are in, the navigation controls work the same way:
| Control | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Left arrow button | Move to the previous period (previous day, week, or month) |
| Right arrow button | Move to the next period (next day, week, or month) |
| Today button | Jump back to today's date |
| Left/Right arrow keys | Keyboard shortcut for previous/next (Day, Week, and List views) |
The current period is shown in the calendar header. For example, in Month view you will see "April 2026", and in Day view you will see "April 8, 2026" along with the day of the week.
Filtering Your Calendar
The Display button in the calendar header opens the filter panel, where you can narrow down which events appear on the calendar. This is especially useful if your school has multiple locations or many instructors.
Available Filters
| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
| Location | Show only events at specific locations or rooms |
| Instructor | Show only events for specific instructors |
| Student | Show only events involving specific students |
| Instrument | Show only events for specific instruments |
| Date range | Set a start and/or end date to limit the date range |
| Time range | Set a start and/or end time to limit events by time of day |
How to Apply Filters
- Click the Display button in the calendar header.
- Use the search fields to find and select locations, instructors, students, or instruments. You can select multiple values for each filter.
- Optionally, set date and time range constraints.
- Click Apply filters to update the calendar.
Active filters appear as badges below the calendar header. Click the X on any badge to remove that individual filter.
To clear all filters at once, open the Display panel and click Reset all.
You can combine multiple filters. For example, filter by a specific instructor and a specific location to see only that instructor's events at that location.
Grouping (List View)
In the List view, you can group events by Location or Instructor to see them organized in side-by-side columns. This is useful for comparing schedules or creating printable reports.
To enable grouping:
- Make sure you are in List view.
- Click the Display button.
- Under the Grouping section, select Group by Location or Group by Instructor.
- Choose a layout orientation -- Horizontal (columns side by side) or Vertical (stacked sections).
- Click Apply filters.
To remove grouping, set the grouping option back to No Grouping and apply.
Timezone Support
Conductly automatically displays event times in your school's configured timezone. If you or a team member are traveling or working from a different timezone, the calendar adjusts so that events always appear at the correct local time.
Your timezone is configured in your school's settings. All events are stored in UTC and converted to your local timezone for display.
If event times look off, check that your school's timezone is set correctly in Settings > School Information.
